Watts House

Watts House

The Watts House was built by J.G. Watts in 1902 and remained a family home until 1976. The Scappoose Historical Society then established the Watts Museum on the second flooor while the first floor housed Scappoose City Hall until it moved to its present location. The Museum is maintained by the Scappoose Historical Society and features items including a shawl worn by Elizabeth Matilda Nessley Watts, (J.G. Watts’ mother) when she traveled the Oregon Trail by wagon train, wooden yokes used on oxen teams, and other early history artifacts.

The Watts House may be reserved for special events. Please contact the Scappoose Historical Society if you are interested.
