This Committee was composed of the members from the Scappoose Parks and Recreation Committee, and one additional member from or representing each of the following groups:

  • Dog Park
  • Softball League
  • Soccer Club
  • Scappoose Bay Watershed Council
  • At-large park user
  • Nearby Neighborhoods (around Veterans Park/Grabhorn property: defined generally by the following boundaries: NW EJ Smith Road, Western City limits, SW JP West Road, South Scappoose Creek)

Meetings were held in a hybrid format, with in-person seating reserved for Committee Memebers and committee staff. Members of the public could attend virtually. You can find meeting details here. Mission Statement:

The Grabhorn Park Ad Hoc Committees' purpose is to assist the City Council by making a final recommendation to the Council on the Grabhorn Conceptual Park Plan. They will assist the Council by representing multiple community perspectives and identifying design elements consistent with best practices as identified by City Council. 

The Ad Hoc Committee will ultimately provide Council two recommendations for development of the Grabhorn property, consistent with the Committee Bylaws. This is a limited duration Committee and its tenure will end after its final recommendations are submitted to City Council. For more information please see supporting documents below.
