Public Records Requests

Anyone may request a copy of court records by completing a Public Records Request form, staff will contact you with the fee amount that will need to be paid to produce the records request.  Once payment has been received staff will prepare you records request.   Generally, it will take 7 to 10 business days after payment has been received, for the documents to be ready for pick up.

 

For BUILDING DEPT./PERMIT HISTORY REQUESTS;

  • The Scappoose Building Department did not exist until approximately 1996.
  • If you are seeking any permit history prior to 1996; there might not be any documents.
  • The Building Department has an old ledger/binder from the county that logged permit data from 1979-1990. The data entry is very basic and often times without any description of work.
  • In addition, in the late 1980’s our area revised addresses from a 3 digit numbering system to the current 5 digit addressing system; no data conversion was kept.  Most addresses in the old permit ledger have the 3 digit addressing system.
  • Per the State archives, home plans are only required to be kept for 2 years after the final date.
