Mercury TMDL Plan

The City of Scappoose was issued a formal notice by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) on March 3, 2021, identifying the City as a Designated Management Agency (DMA). The mandate required the City to implement strategies to reduce mercury in stormwater runoff according to requirements identified in the WQMP that are specific to the City of Scappoose (https://www.oregon.gov/deq/wq/tmdls/Pages/willhgtmdlac2018.aspx). The City received approval of the mercury mitigation plan by the DEQ on November 29, 2023, which can be found below. Please note that the city will be implementing the plan in phases as required by the DEQ.
